Findlay Prep's Anthony Bennett.

Let's put it this way: UNLV has as good of a shot today as it did last week at landing Findlay Prep's star Canadian big man Anthony Bennett.

As of today, though, he made it known that Dave Rice and his staff has as good of a shot as nine other schools.

In a day and age where college recruits can tease coaches and fan bases by naming their 'lists' of potential schools publicly, it's hard sometimes to know just how much to read into them.

Either way, Bennett, who was arguably the fastest-rising top-tier prospect this summer in the 2012 class, trimmed his list to 10 schools publicly on Twitter Tuesday morning.

Along with UNLV, it includes Kentucky, UConn, West Virginia, Oregon, Pitt, Florida, Missouri, Ohio State and Washington.

In other words: Don't expect a decision soon.

But, still, just being included is big for UNLV, which is showing no reservation in rubbing elbows with the traditional powers and chasing some of the top national targets in its recruiting efforts under Rice.

Bennett struggled through an injury-riddled junior season as a Pilot, and the team fell short of claiming its third consecutive ESPN Rise National High School Invitational title back in April. However, after taking some time to heal, he exploded on the national scene early in the summer. He blew up at both the Pangos All-American Camp in Los Angeles, then at the NBAPA Top 100 Camp in Virginia.

Rivals.com elevated the versatile 6-foot-7 forward all the way up to the No. 7 slot in its Top150 rankings for the 2012 class.

So the 'list' is at 10 schools, he's riding a monstrous wave of momentum and is about to start his senior season playing on one of America's most loaded rosters. The way that all adds up, don't expect his recruitment to end any time soon.
