Fighting international anti-Semitism

Thu, Feb 2, 2012 (1:59 a.m.)

The United Nations recently convened the International Day Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust. Good. However, these same UN countries support Egypt's ruling Muslim Brotherhood. On their Internet web pages they support Holocaust deniers - have accused Jews of exploiting the Holocaust for political reasons and using Germany as a scapegoat, orchestrated by world Zionism. Yet, no western democracy has condemned this blatant religious intolerance and anti-Semitism.

The Dutch government rejects calls for an apology for the Netherlands' indifference during the Holocaust. How soon we forget: 100,000 Jews from there were brutally murdered during the Holocaust.

England's London School of Economics students have adopted Nazi-themed drinking songs. Here in America the Friends Seminary in New York has invited polemicist-author Gilad Atzmon, a self-hating, Israel-born Jew to speak here. This is the same Atzmon who in his insulting titled book, "The Wandering Who?" - says Auschwitz was not a "death camp" and "Hitler might have been right..." in exterminating Jews. Neither America nor other UN countries have

condemned this blatant anti-Jew, anti-Semitic and anti-Israel rabid, rambunctious rhetoric.

The truth is: International fortitude is lacking to take strong action against state-sponsored anti-Semitism - for instance, as Iran's. And, in Germany, the home of Adolf Hitler; a recent report admits anti-Semitism remains deeply embedded in German society. Worldwide, and even in America, there's silence and indifference when those targeted are Jews.

Let us never forget that our closest ally in the Mideast is Israel. And, that over 6 million Jews - children, women and men were brutally murdered by the collective German people and their collaborators. Therefore, rightfully so, in the heart of every Jew throughout the world and Israel is this apothegm: "Never Again!"

  1. There is no doubt that any politician, whether Republican or Democrat has to walk the "high wire" when dealing with issues of Israel and the Middle East. There is a lot at stake in all these negotiations. However, I certainly do not think that these touchy issues should waiver or lessen our support for Israel. We should both, stand as one, at all times. There are times, I believe the Democratic politicians are not living up to these standards of the pact that the United States and Israel have between each other. I fully understand there has to be compromise in the peace process, but I don't think it should be at the expense of Israel's security as a nation.

Back in the early 1970's, during the mine sweeping operation of the Suez Canal, I periodically had the most absolute pleasure of being exposed to the Israeli armed forces. They were extremely well trained and disciplined. Watching the Israeli fighter pilots work from above, was some of the most fantastic tactical aerial maneuvers I've ever seen. Anyone who doubts the strength and durability of the Israeli's military has made a huge mistake in assumptions!

  2. Every dictator needs a scapegoat and Jews, being a minority in every country with the exception of Israel, are especially suited for that need. To anti-Semites in world and the USA in particular, Jews rule and control everything. Hard to believe that American Jews, with about 3% of the population, control the other 97% but logic was never a high priority with the crazies. Many of them worship a Jew as their Lord & Savior and never see the dicotomy in hating Jews! Go figure! I get the feeling that, if Christ does ever come back, those morons are going to be suprised at how he deals with them.

  3. "Nobody is more anti-Jew than Romney. As a Mormon he doesn't believe in the Jews and he denied Kosher meals to Holocaust victims."

GOPReallySux -- I'm calling your bluff on this one. Having once been LDS, and an ordained minster (you get one of those certificates when you go on a mission), nothing I recall from that dogma even remotely supports not believing in Jews. And since Mitt Romney wasn't even alive during the Holocaust, seems you're lying here. So do a Lucy --"you've got some 'splaining to do" -- and I may retract this post.
