Injury accident
An injury accident Thursday afternoon involving a tractor-trailer and an SUV has caused road closures in North Las Vegas.
The accident occurred about 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Cheyenne Avenue and North Fifth Street, a North Las Vegas Police official said.
The official said a female driving the SUV was injured and rushed to University Medical Center for treatment. Although the injury initially was thought to be life-threatening, police now say it was not severe.
The accident occurred after one of the vehicles ran a red light, police said, but it was too early to say which driver was at fault.
Traffic will be closed through the evening rush on eastbound Cheyenne and in both directions on North Fifth Street, police said.
